Partridge Hills Trails Update - Eco Restoration
As we approach the final stages of sanctioning in Partridge Hills, BC Parks is wrapping up their work to match the trail map with trails on the ground and rehabilitate the rare & sensitive ecosystems found in this park.
This means some unsanctioned trails will be closed off while BC Parks contractors decommission them. We ask that riders avoid these areas in order to respect these efforts. Pictured are the types of signs to expect and stakes with yellow ribbon, denoting where new plants have been placed. Some trails may not have signs (or signs were removed), but are actively being decommissioned. If you find yourself on a trail with evidence of trail decompaction, visible seed, transplanted shrubs along the trail footprint, planted plugs with wood stakes and ribbon around them, and/or coarse woody debris dispersed throughout, please find an alternate route.
We at SIMBS recognize this comes as a part of the many changes in Partridge occurring recently after years of discussion, assessments, and plans. As always, SIMBS is working to best align changes with the local community and preserve the unique riding experience at Partridge, while improving the flow of the trail network.
Stay tuned as we announce some exciting new projects in the area and trail days to go along with them soon. As always, feedback, queries, and input are greatly appreciated, so do not hesitate to get in touch.
